"Airzena" will purchase Boeing 737 and 787

The ceremony of signing Contract on purchasing of Boeing 737 (NG) and Boeing 787 (Dreamliner) between Mr. Marty Bentrott, Vice-President of Boeing company  and Mr. Tamaz Gaiashvili, Chairman of Directors Board of Airzena  air company has been held today.

As a result of negotiations, Airzena plans to extend its fleet with Boeing 737 (NG) at the end of 2012 and Boeing 787 (Dreamliner) in 2018.

Furthermore, Boeing company gives a grant for Georgian pilots training. The Vice-President personally hand over grant to Mr. Sergo Tepnadze, Rector of Aviation University. The University will train pilots for Airzena air company.  

Mr. Marty Bentrott, Vice-President of Boeing company words:

"We signed a Contract with Airzena, as a result of long term activities with the air company. The air company will purchase two Boeing 737 (NG) in line with this Contract. The delivery of these aircraft will commence from 2012. Airzena management expressed its interest in the last model of Boeing 787, so called, Dreamliner, which delivery will be possible in 2018.

It is a great honour for me to be with you today and I am really happy to cooperate with Airzena".

Mr. Tamaz Gaiashvili, Chairman of Directors Board of Airzena air company words:

"For the last two years tourism has been seriously developed in Georgia. Following the negotiations with Boeing company over a long period of time we made a decision and signed a Contract on purchasing of two new Boeing aircraft from 2012. For 2018 we plan to purchase Boeing 787 aircraft, so called, Dreamliner.

With updated fleet we'll offer our passengers new destinations".

Mr. Sergo Tepnadze, Rector of Aviation University words:

"The Aviation University has received a grant amounted to USD 50.000. This grant will be used for the training of the students of Flight faculty."
